I. Feel. So. Nauseous.

Ugh, I feel nauseous, dizzy, and mad. I had things to do today, I hate when my body won't cooperate. I am going to miss my brother's confirmation. The past 5 years or so I miss out on so many opportunities and events because of Celiac, well I guess I should rephrase that to *because I didn't know I had Celiac*. I am however, very happy that these days are less and less, but that doesn't mean they are any more welcome when they do show up. Also! Thanks to my super celiac, a few of the decalcification spots on my teeth are now cavaties. I have read several articles on Celiacs with tooth decalcification and apparently it can be one of the first signs of Celiac. If that is true, I really wish they would add it to the Dental Curriculum or send out a memo or something. I love my dentist, and he had even said that he wanted to know why I had soooo much decalcification. At the time I didn't know I had Celiac, so I offerd up, "Um, I have low iron" and "Um, I have low b12" He said that it wouldn't have caused it. Now that I will be visiting him again very soon I will have to bring him a copy of the article. Luckily I believe he is one of the few Dr. and/or Dentists who would be interested in the article and not one of those "Looks at you like you are crazy and figures you have just been on wikipedia all day" kind. In addition to this fabulous tooth find, my restless leg is back, and it is back hardcore. Last time my iron ferritin was a 7...a 7!  So after months of taking pills that didn't work I was switched to liquid that didn't work and finally had to go in for a Ferrittin Iron IV treatment. I am thinking that my stomach is still not absorbing properly and I will probably have to go do that again.

So this should prove to be an interesting week - Mother's Day, my birthday, the dentist, and blood work. Woot. Woot.  Another Fun Gluten Free Vixen Week!

Gluten Free Salt Sugar Scrub

I have decided that I want to make my mother a gift basket for Mother's Day.  My sister purchased her a book and I got her a handmade bracelet from etsy. I am also going to put together a little basket and try making my first gluten-free salt/sugar scrub. I have gotten all of my ingredients in and I am very excited to try this out :) I will post later with photos.

3 Year Anniversary

Went out with the hubby last night for our 3 year anniversary. I looked up some "gluten free" restaurants yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that Olive Garden has a Gluten Free Menu, including a gluten-free pasta. I ended up ordering the grilled salmon, and it was nice to not have to worry about gluten in the seasoning. They didn't have a drink or dessert menu though. The meal was good though :) It was nice to finally be able to feel well enough to go out. For the majority of my past birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries for last 10 years the only thing I wanted to do is sleep, I was happy I could finally spend some time with the man I love and not worry that I would be exhausted, or what type of stomach or headache was lurking just around the corner.

The Adventures of the Gluten Free Vixen

I was thinking today that perhaps I will start my very own gluten free blog. There seem to be more and more gluten free blogs, sites, etc. that are popping up all the time. Most of them that I have found, however, are about mothers with Children who have Celiac Disease or other recipe related goodness. Although they have a lot of delicious recipes and some creative gluten free ideas, I find that I have the most difficulty with things, like trying to find gluten free alcohol and gluten free makeup. So since there are many gluten free goddesses already, I thought it time to bring in a Vixen ;) So sit back, relax, and feel free to comment on my gluten free related findings!
